The US has [ declined to show whatever evidence it has ]( http://www.commondreams.org/views/2014/09/10/malaysia-airlines-whodunnit-still-mystery ) about who shot down flight MA-17. I find it implausible anyone intentionally fired at an airliner. Thus I believe that rebels fired at what they thought was a Ukrainian government plane.
