Teenagers in many countries are [ drinking less, using drugs less, even getting pregnant less ]( http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/16/teenage-kicks-young-people-future-teacher-generation-sensible ) . Perhaps that's because they expect to be punished all their lives if they do those things, and expect the adult world to be one that condemns all but a small fraction winners to hopeless poverty. It's good that teenagers do less of these harmful things, but not good at all that plutocracy has made adult life so hard.
