Aug 19 is [ "Earth Overshoot Day" ]( http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/aug/19/earth-ecological-debt-earlier ) , the day when we've used, since the beginning of the year, as much resources as the Earth can sustain for the whole year. Just 14 years ago, that point was reached in October.
