Arguing that putting the local inhabitants or indigenous people in control of forests [ works better than REDD for ending deforestation ]( http://www.commondreams.org/views/2014/10/09/climate-change-and-deforestation-will-not-be-solved-trick ) . I see some questionable points. For instance, the danger that the forest's trees may die even if protected exists no matter how we try to protect them. Global heating is killing a lot of pine trees in the US.
