It’s been a busy month! Freya was downloaded over 400,000 times already, with two thirds of downloads coming from closed-source platforms. This shows that elementary is actively growing the open source market, and we’re pretty proud of that. Over 1,000 people have paid for Freya, with the most common payment being $10. Thanks to each and every one of you! We’ve updated the payment options on our website to reflect that average and be more representative of what people actually pay. People have also helped fund us using other services, namely Bountysource and Patreon. We now have over 120 total subscribers contributing a total of over $1,000 per month. This is the kind of sustainable investment that has lead to the hiring of two full-time employees to work towards furthering open-source.
